About Anthony M. Foley, MD
After a distinguished career in the United States Army that included multiple deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and Kosovo, Dr. Anthony Foley separated as Lieutenant Colonel. He specializes in robotic and laparoscopic surgery and is a nationally recognized instructor in robotics and hernia surgery. Dr. Foley serves as Director of St. Joseph’s Hospital Hernia Center of Excellence and holds the designation of Hernia Surgeon of Excellence. He is also a site proctor for Intuitive, maker of the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, and consultant for Medtronic.
Dr. Foley earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Miami in Coral Gardens, Fla. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. Dr. Foley did an internship/residency in general surgery at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon in Georgia. Dr. Foley is license to practice in Georgia and South Carolina. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and American Hernia Society.
